The project essentially aims at assisting a part of the affected people, initially in the southern coastal area. This area has been selected as project implementation could be carried out effectively with the Loadstar factory in Midigama as base.
The project consists of six components as outlined below.
- Relief assistance
- School Development
- Counselling
- Temporary houses
- Fishing industry
- Permanent houses
Hospital & sanitation and community development are part of the above aspects.
An initial donation of 100 million Sri Lankan Rupees (1 million USD) from the trustees contributed directly in the relief assistance phase.
Local and international funds are collected in Sri Lanka and abroad.
