Art exhibition to support the Sri Lanka Southern Coast Reconstruction Program
1.3 Million Rupees were raised at the opening of Saskia Pintelon's paintings exhibition held on 2nd February 2005 in Colombo.
After the tsunami, Belgian born Saskia Pintelon, who arrived in Sri Lanka 24 years ago, was left with a dilemma "Such disaster has struck, I am no soldier to clear rubble from the road, how can help?" So, she decided that the sale of 16 of her paintings would be donated to the rehabilitation of the tsunami affected areas trough the Sri Lanka Southern Coast Reconstruction Program.
The paintings depicted portraits and faces of people she captured in her day-to-day life.
