School rehabilitation: ongoing process

The Pelena school in the Weligama area, also known as the Wajiragnana Maha Vidyalaya, was the first school which we managed to open on the 10th of January, the official begin of the Srilankan school year.

Up to day we continue to give our support to this school by various initiatives. On 12th February we distributed a large amount of music instruments and food items to all the students. Similar activities were already organized in the Mirissa school.

Since a few days we also started to construct a temporary building for the Mirissa pre-school, which houses about 40 children aged between 3 and 5 years. With these projects we aim to support the local communities as much as possible, by responding to their direct needs.
