SIX MONTHS LATER...

Following the crucial phase of relief the challenge is now to build back better! After March 2005 we are moving from the relief phase to the recovery and reconstruction phase. Although the intervention of several public holidays as Singhalese & Hindu New Year and Vesak Full Moon festivals during the period under review in this newsletter the physical progress in the program is astonishing. The attention mainly shifted on to the permanent housing program. This also explains the sudden raise in expenses after the first three months, which were mainly dedicated to emergency repairs. The costs could be reasonably restrained during the first months thanks to the massive effort of the 130 Loadstar volunteers.
